The whole single player campaign can also be played in co-op mode with up to 4 players. Intermittently, you can customize and upgrade your character in a safehouse, which is customizable as well. As a player, you create a character that you can improve independent from the multiplayer mode, and begin to search for the missing special unit. Soon after, top secret information is made public, and an international crisis impends. When a CIA facility in South East Asia goes silent, a hightech special forces unit is sent in. Climatic change and a shortage of raw materials lead to new alliances and factions. The abilities of near-future soldiers are massively improved with bio augmentations, bionic and robotic enhancements - true super-soldiers are created. After a drone attack, an absolutely impenetrable air defense system is being developed, so that wars are decided on the ground again.
The story continues the events of Black Ops 2. Once again, developer Treyarch is responsible for the next episode in the BO series, where Black Ops soldiers can be improved with several technical gadgets in order to perform even better in special operations. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Activision continues the popular series within the CoD universe.
